Adventure in Austin

I love spontaneous trips!
This past Thursday, my friend Chris called and asked if I wanted to take a day trip to Austin with Chase. Uh, yeah!
Off we went.

I haven't been to Austin since my senior year in high school when I played at State Solo & Ensemble.
Also, Boomer.

The drive took about two hours, and once we were there, we went to the Hope Outdoor Gallery. If you have never been there, I highly recommend it before it's demolished. This location has a pretty great view of Austin.
What inspired me the most about this trip, was the spontaneity of the trip and my surroundings. I was amazed at the creativity and collaborations of artwork in front of me; Basically, a kid in a candy store. It gave me the opportunities to meet and speak to new people as well as capture memories for me that add to my life portfolio. Here are some of my favorites as well as candid bestfriends, Chris and Chase.

After Hope Outdoor Gallery, we went to Pinthouse Pizza, which was pretty delicious. I forgot which pizza we ordered, but dang, it was really good. I'm pro at selling. A high school friend worked there and completely surprised me, because I didn't recognize them at first.

After pizza, we went to Zilker Park and played in the water. If there is a way to get in a body of water, you can best bet I'll be in it. We also climbed pride rock, that Chase had boasted about. It wasn't as big as the actual animated disney one, but it was pretty entertaining to climb.

To top off the awesome day date, our final stop was VooDoo Doughnuts. My first time going was in Denver last year, this one had a much shorter line. I got the 'old dirty bastard' which is a yeast donut, with oreos and peanut butter drizzled, as well as a triple chocolate that had a cake donut, chocolate, and cocoa puffs on top. Yeah carbs!

Thank you for an incredible and fun day trip! Let's do another one soon!
Check out Chase's website and follow him on Instagram. He's a media professional like me and travels on a budget.
